Award Tour…

May 22, 2009

In my tireless effort to bring you what’s new, I have found a new street-wear clothing brand “Award Tour” created and ran by some Ivy league kids at Princeton. Though in typical street-wear fashion this “brand” right now consist mainly of; t-shirts, sweaters/hoodies, and the ubiquitous branded beanie for winter time forays in the outdoors, I am impressed not just by their clothing which graphically offers really nothing new to the genre so to speak but more so with the presentation of their product and dedication of building their brand up from more than merely a t shirt clothing line. This dedication to building a brand is evidenced in their blog which chronicles the daily operations of Award Tour. These young men blog about coming photo-shoots and picking up the material to make the aforementioned shirts and hoodies to being able to start fires in the fireplaces located in their dorms. Saying all that to say, I am rooting for these kids because it takes a lot to be successful and with a little time and fine tuning of their formula ie. ( making their shirts standout next to other graphic tees). They will be able to look back at the road they travelled and be satisfied.

Shadyville MMA??…

May 19, 2009

Supposedly Whoo Kid was talking shit about MMA during one of his interviews with Don King and was either challenged or challenged professional MMA fighter Jorge Macaco Patino. Here is the hilarious video of the fight ( if you want to call it that) i swore Whoo Kid was going to call Officer Ricky after the beating he took.

20 Dollar Chinese food…

May 17, 2009

With the school year being done, I have a lot of time on my hand and like people with idle time I find myself watching youtube for hours on end. One thing I have come to realize after my daily Youtube viewing marathons is the creativity behind the Lebron James Nike basketball commercials. The commercials combine Lebron’s magnetic personality and pop culture, blended with some smooth ass music and tattooed puppets, it seems with this formula the Nike marketing team cant lose.

Mos Def-Casa Bey…

May 15, 2009

Possibly one of the best songs I’ve heard from Mos as of late. I hope that the rest of The Ecstatic
is as fresh and upbeat as this song. I wasn’t really feeling his last to efforts (True Magic, and The New Danger) both were to experimental for my taste. So hopefully this new album is more Pretty Flaco and less Black Jack Johnson.

Cookies & Apple Juice behind the scenes…

May 7, 2009

This video had me at a loss of words. When I first saw the NSFW disclaimer on Nahright I ignored it and watched just the opening scene in the quiet room of the Library and had to shut the window down immediatley to avoid any chance of me being seen as the pervert I really am. But saying all that to say this will be possibly on the level of Tip Drill (holds breath)

Deep Foundation-Children of The Sun Rmx

April 30, 2009

My home girl Tiff from Three Ways To Take It (ayo) sent me a link to this video. I was simply impressed with what I saw. Its one thing to say that rap now is a global product and can be found on every Continent, but to actually see other cultures who were not traditionally involved in the culture is a crazy concept to me. This rap group Deep Foundation I assume founded in the states still represent the Philippines and have embraced both Hip Hop and their Filipino heritage to create a unique identity which promotes awareness issues in the Filipino community as well as pride. If I were Pacquio I would be banging “Children of the Sun Remix” as my introduction before bashing Ricky Hatton’s brains out on Saturday…
